De Binck, The Hague | 72 homes completed
On behalf of Local, Amstelius carried out quality supervision for the De Binck project during the demolition and realization phases.
The old logistics warehouse of approximately 9,000 m² at the SDU site was dismantled as part of urban mining and largely given a second life elsewhere. A fine example of circular reuse. In addition, GreenBuildingEngineering provided all homes with an energy index (energy label).

Over the past year and a half, the former SDU office building has been transformed from an office building into the De Binck apartment complex with 72 homes. The first residents moved into the complex this week. The unique location on the water offers the area a residential climate that is unprecedented in The Hague.
"On the outside of the complex, the diving board immediately catches the eye," an extension on the top floor, on the center side. 'This is also meant to make it clear that the area is going to change,' says Wouter Loomans of project developer Local.
The Binck concerns the first phase of the project to be realized by the development combination Local, Vorm and BPD over the next few years.
The transformation of the Binckhorst area from a business/industrial location to an attractive living environment with a mix of living and working is in full swing. The sturdy architecture enhances the appearance of the Binckhorst as a former inner-city industrial site with a raw edge.
