The Sun Wisdom

The house Herengracht 182, built in 1772, traditionally called "De Sonnewijser". The listed office building has a total area of 3,500 m².

The building was commissioned by Jan Arnoud van Brienen, son of Willem van Brienen, to a design by Belgian architect Ludwig Friedrich Druck.

The national monument has now been in use for nearly 250 years and that has resulted in visible signs of use. These were all too visible during the purchase by Harvest Realty and Millten in 2013. Millten was responsible for renovating the property. With great sustainability ambitions and in consultation with the Bureau of Monuments and Archaeology, Millten has intensively renovated the property and ensured that this property is future-proof and can be used again as a high-quality office.

It was the building owner's vision to restore the dated and outdated building to the luxury it was once meant to be. A luxury office building in this day and age should have aesthetic value, but also be able to be used in a climate-responsible manner. These were two important principles during the renovation.

The property's historical value and charm were also key factors in the large-scale renovation.

The Sun Wisdom has been the headquarters of fashion brand Karl Lagerfeld since summer 2019.

Amstelius conducted a technical due diligence on behalf of the building owner in 2013. After the purchase of the complex, Amstelius was responsible for property management (financial/technical). The office building was sold in 2019.
